    Hi there,
over the last few weeks U have noticed a strange smell when I go into my Hallway.
It smells like something is fermenting.

I have a wooden floor on sheets of ply which is then on joists on dwarf walls.I spoke to the carpenter who said the floorboards are secret nailed and glued so it would be hard to get them up and down easily and it would be a sloe job also the skirting boards would have to be re-done afterwards if we did decide to take up the floor to investigate.

Most of the house is wooden floor on dwarf walls like this but the other rooms have an exterior wall and a vent and don't seem to have the smell.
Could it be dry rot ?

I have though I would drill a hole and put in an inspection camera which I can hire from a company in dublin.

I had thought about getting a company to investigate , has anyone had a company do a survey like this before, or do you have any suggestions?
