how to qualify for a tax credit on meal allowance

    if you work for the county council as general operative out on the roads would you be entitled to qualify for meal allowances? and if so what is the rate if your salary is 26000?thanks

    Its about €10 per week. By the way its not a tax credit. Its paid as part of your wages.

    Thanks for the reply,so if it states that your weekly wage is 500 is this included in the 500 or do you get an extra 10 a week?tryed looking online but cant find a straight foward answear

    Your payslip will say xxxx amount.
    Then it will say eat on site allowance 9.90.
    then any other allowance. ie weekend, acting etc

    just one more question what other allowances or benefits would you get with job apart from overtime would you know?thanks

    Most gen ops will just get basic wage plus eat on site allowance. Supervisors, gangers and or some truck drivers may get week end allowances, acting up rates, craftmans rate. I believe also that waterworks caretakers and park superintendents in the bigger councils may also get some extra allowances .
