You'll need to give more details, and best to post up a link to the advert if you can

Or the 09 civic 1.8 auto with 63k kms that appeared on DD today with the ridiculous €14k asking price but then the seller thought 'hey that's a ridiculous price, I'll reduce it to something realistic so they reduced it to €13250. Queue absolutely no calls about it ever.

Poor pictures, can't tell what body is like. Inside needs a valet badly, creases in seats are full of dirt, can see that even in those poor pictures.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,360 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Only one poor picture of the exterior,
non essential items left in the unclean interior for the photos,
no description of the car's features.
I'd also get rid of the word reselling. It gives the impression you are a supermarket wheeler dealer.

The way the advert is poorly presented gives me the impression you're not really serious and might give the same impression about how it was looked after and maintained.

Would not inspire me to enquire about it being honest.

      Bad pictures
      Dirty car
      Registration number not visible
      No info on motor tax
      No pronouns used

Ad doesn't mention what model it is, nor service history.

    No surprise it won't sell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,165 ✭✭✭Mervyn Skidmore

Cannot understand adverts like this. You're asking someone to part with €9,000 of their hard earned cash and a mars bar has a better description on it.

Faclift model is 2.0 or 1.6 diesel not 1.8

    That's incorrect too.

No effort no chance, seriously it's as easy as feck to take 10 decent photos, if you can't do this I wouldn't waste my time making any enquiry.

What does the term "reselling" mean in an ad, did you buy an out and out basket case lemon and want to resell? There's also no €300 motor tax rate in existance, seriously a slight bit of research, there's this thing called Google on the go a few years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,235 ✭✭✭✭Cee-Jay-Cee

List the features in bullet points

Wash and valet the car and put up at least 6 exterior photos and a 3 or 4 interior photos once it's clean.

I cant understand people who put in 'No time wasters' on their ads as no one thinks of themselves as a time wasters and no one sits around looking at ads thinking 'what car will I. waste my time going to see today?' It's an immature line and achieves nothing.

That's a basic spec mondeo, has very few bells and whistles.

Could still be a 1.8. It ran with the facelift model at the very early stages.

There's a few other features on it, eg, rear electric windows and colour coded door handles, which are usually only on the zetec and above specs.

Do people actually see these as features in cars these days as opposed to expectations?

I don't know much about cars; do Mondeo's have a timing belt and chain?

Ya, bog spec cars are still pretty poorly specced out. Even to the extent of not colour coding door handles.

Rear electric windows still aren't widespread, a lot of new cars still only have them in the front.

Young kids don't have the ability to either wind their window down when I'd like them to, or when they are able to, I'd like to prevent them from opening them in certain situations.

    That, and I'm not commoner.

The 1.8 Ford diesel does. After 08 was changed to wet belt and chain though.

Just a belt on the older 1.8s and 2.0s

The rear electrics is of most convenience to the driver than anyone.

Tried to see an old but mechanically sound Jeep recently - some people wanted me to pay them, some funny people out there or maybe it’s like that all the time.
