My partner got a promotion in work around a year ago but still hasnt signed a new contract. He was promised a new one within a couple of weeks of starting his new position.
He has chased this up many times with a number of different people but keeps being told its on the way.
We really need this contract in writing as were hoping to get a mortgage soon and the new contract would really help.
So what i need to know is, is his job under a legal obligation to give him the contract or can they drag it out for longer if they want.

Not for a promotion, the employer is required to supply a contract of employment within two months of commencement of employment.

You just need a salary cert from employer with his new increase in salary details for Mortgage application.

Im sure you can get this from Payroll or his Line Manager.

get him to ask for a salary cert from HR, or a letter confirming the promotion this can be added as a memo to his current contract.
