    Hi all

Ive a Macbook Pro 15" 2010 (No upgrades) and was debating whether to upgrade to El Capitan. Did anyone here upgrade an old MBP to El Capitan?

One of my friends upgraded their Macbook Pro, slightly newer than mine and they said it bricked their Macbook, so Im concerned it'll mess mine up. Do you think I should upgrade?

Also, my batteries condition is replace soon and I hear a clicking noise sometimes, probably my hard drive.

    Thanks

I'm running a 2009 white MacBook (not the pro) and it runs The latest OS just fine. Only upgrade is an SSD I installed about 4yrs back.

I have a mid 2010 13" pro running capitan with the problems, i did upgrade my ram to 8gb but i'd say it would have been fine without doing so.

Thanks. Did you have to replace your battery yet?

I upgraded my mid 2010 MacBook Pro to El Capitan. Everything went well. The only downside is it seems slower. Slower to get started and for a few minutes after I start it it's a little sluggish. Then after that it's fine.

I just did last year. I had about 1500 cycles on it and was down to about 40% on full charge. I bought a used low cycle battery (less than 100) on ebay for 25 pounds and has been as good as new.

Thanks. Did you upgrade anything in your MBP like RAM or SSD/hard drive?

Nope nothing. More RAM might be nice but I haven't seriously considered it. I went from Snow Leopard to El Capitan. Rather than in increments along the way
