    Is there a magic product out there that can fix this ? Oxidation ?

    You could try something like CarPro Spotless.
    But polishing it will definitely remove it! Should be possible to do it with a metal polish by hand; you'll need to mask off any areas that will stain as a result of the polish.

    Same issue on my shiny bits on the mondeo - hand polish with metal cleaner didnt do much tbh.

    Yes, as said, polishing will remove it. Having a machine polisher, I would always go straight for it to use on something like that.

    Try WD 40 and plenty of elbow grease

    I had this same kind of thing on my E92. An actual D/A didn't do much even with metal polish. What got rid of it for me was Autosol metal polish and a Dremel tool bought in Aldi. It's one of those small things that you get a small box of attachments for:

    Using the white polishing pads that come in the box, Autosol metal polish and patience I eventually brought the trim back to factory standard.
