Hi I have a Mini Cooper 2007 and ONE of the rear indicators has a fault and works on occasions the bulb appears o.k. It sound like a bad connection the bulb holder appears to have an unusual tag on one side of the bulb holder. One of the tag connections has a normal rectangular piece of metal but the other side looks as if it has a much narrower piece of metal ,hence a poor connection......Any idea where I might get the bulb holder its just a piece of plastic with the bulb holder in it .Any suggestions? This may not be the problem.
    Thanks

My first port of call wouls be to replace the bulb and then see if the issue reoccurs.

This. OP, are the indicators instrumented on that car, by any chance? That is, do you get some sort of notification on the dash to tell you an indicator has failed?

I replaced the bulb a beeping occurs when the light is not working. As i indicated one of the connections on the bulb holder seems strange it comes to a point rather than being rectangular like the second tag is this normal on the connector?.

Managed to fix problem the connections on the bulb holder are of a very poor quality. I managed to bend it slightly, cleaned the connection with switch cleaner and it worked.I will have to source the bulb holder as the connecting lug is not good.I think it broke as people were changing the bulb may have stressed the connection.
    Thanks for all the help.
