Stage 14 of this year's Giro, on Saturday, is basically the maratona with a 70 odd km run-in to Arabba.
I did it last year and it was frankly the best day of my life on a bike. A simply staggering location and an amazing event. Unfortunately I didnt get a spot in the lottery this year.
Have a look on Saturday and see how amazing a venue it is.

Yup...the Dolomites may be the most spectacular place in Europe to ride a bike, walk or ski.

The roads in summer are full of German motorbikes, but if I had May or the second half of September, with time off....that'd be the place. With a little detour to the Stelvio 8-)

You might find a bit of snow there in May.
