Have read opinions saying that the (HTC) Nexus phones won't be shown as it's too early.

There's also a rumor that the Nexus 6P might be refreshed with a 820 Snapdragon... wonder if that might make an appearance?

VR it is then! I've much more interest in what developers can do with VR on phones, which in inherently wireless, rather than the pc/console gaming side that has you tethered to a machine. Should be fun :)

I would like to see new Nexus hardware too, but it's a bit early in the year alright. Any rumors about a refreshed Nexus 7 or 10 tablet?

I'd like to see something on Android TV software too, but I don't know if they care about that anymore.

I just want to know when are Google Play Podcasts coming to Europe?

    I have them already

    I have them already

    Care to share where/how?

    ^^^
Google help says that the podcasts are only available in US / CA. But if you already have one on your account (through visit to these places or VPN) then you will be able to access the service outside US / CA. Similar to how a lot of people used play music for years, before it ever launched in IE.

Some poster over in the Aliexpress bargains thread stating that there are rumblings of Xiaomi (?) being at I/O today. I wonder if it's Nexus hardware? :)
Something big coming from Xiaomi today at Google IO. Based on the few products I got from them so far, I'm excited!

So once I access the website and add one through a vpn, they will work normally with my account from then on without the need of a vpn?

Xiaomi do a lot more than phones. They might be involved in the rumoured new hub that might be released in completion to amazons Alexa

Sorry Ush, I read through the thing too quick.

On the support page it states that you won't be able to add a new podcast, unless in the US / CA. Not sure if that means existing ones will get updated with new episodes or what!

Some sort of update to Android Auto would be very welcome

Do you have a car with Android Auto built in, or an aftermarket solution? :)

Would be nice to see an update to that software then. I was looking at some aftermarket Pioneer units on Amazon, but they cost a pretty penny :)

If they announce full Android apps support in Chrome OS, I'll probably buy a chromebook later on :D

I get the podcast on Play music on my PC but don't see them in the android app. I did sign up for play music when it first came out using a VPN so that must be part of it.

Yeh, I'd like to see Deezer and Here Maps add support... Also, I'd like to see Pioneer use capacative instead of resistance screens...

First time watching a keynote for I/O. It's not very interesting compared to Apple or Microsoft keynotes. Like allo and Google Home were the most exciting things so far and they keep talking about cool stuff, like the VR apps yet show very little or uninspired demos.

This is a developer conference, not a consumer show...

I was talking from a developer point of view ;) At WWDC and Build they manage to show interesting stuff for developers (Bash on Windows is one example).

What did Google mention in todays keynote that was remotely interesting for developers? Android studio improvements, some vague talk about VR and the "best android ever" including improvements that touchwiz has had for ages.

It was a underwhelming keynote to watch but perhaps they talked about too much in too little time. I'm sure the breakout sessions are more interesting.

It's just an overview of what's to come at the rest of the event

Totally forgot that I/O was on! I like the little bit at the start with that plane game mentioning Dublin, Ireland!

Pretty underwhelmed so far but there's still lots that could happen.

Android apps on chromebooks should happen, which I pumped about.
