VAT on schoolboy football kits coming from the UK

Hi, our soccer club is running a summer camp, we want to get the kids a training kit, we've shopped around and the cheapest is from a firm in the UK, hoping to get about 40 kids for the camp and the kits are working out to be £12.50, this includes a club crest, will we have to pay VAT or some sort of import duty if we go ahead and buy from the UK?

If vatvus charged on the items in the uk, then yes.
As its in the EU ( for now ) there is no import duty.

You are presumably not purchasing as a business and as such the VAT, if any, will be UK VAT charged by the retailer.

Childrens clothing can be zero rated for VAT purposes and the UK rules are more permissive than Ireland in that zero rate applies up to what is regarded as a 14 year old's clothes (unlike 11 in Ireland).

Soccer clubs often are VAT registered as many would have a bar in their clubhouse. If such a club is VAT registered could the reverse charge to VAT then apply? Or would the fact that the purchase (i.e. the jerseys) are not being put to a VATable use affect things?
