WiFi connectivity issues on MacBook Air

I'm having huge issues with WiFi connectivity on my MacBook Air at the moment. Running El Capitan 10.11.2 on a MacBook that's only a few months old.

I'm pretty sure that all this started since the last updates installed. It's the only device affected in the house so I don't think it's the router. And the irony is that I can't check for latest updates as it can't connect.

Anyone got any ideas? I've been trying fixes from the net, but nothing has worked yet.

What happens? Is it not connecting at all? Dropping the connection? Connecting but web pages not loading?

It shows as connected. Pages may load for a short period, but then will fail to load for long periods. Turning wifi off and on sometimes resolves, but only temporarily

What web browser do you use? Do other apps work?

Have you changed or modified your DNS settings?
