    Hi,
Seen a deal in town for a second hand Galaxy S6 - year old, years guarantee. Its my price range.

Is buying second hand a bad idea? What pitfalls should I look out for ?

The reason for me not going new is, too expensive for me new and anything I can afford new is ho hum in terms of specs compared to an S6.

The shop is Fonez.ie - they also have physical stores, seem ok - as much as any non network stores can be.

Not dead set on it, but do like it and gets great reviews, also like the idea of using Gear VR.

Fonez.ie are 100% reliable I've recently bought a s6 edge + from them and have had no issues and a years warranty.

There physical store is based in Galway city, they are a properly run business any time I've been in the store i thought they seem to be the kind of place that has a very high standard of service. i wouldn't put them in the same category as the second hand phone shops on more st in dublin, which is what i presume an earlier poster was on about when describing dodgy shops.

Also i absolutely have no connection to the store, just giving you my opinion that there legit. ask can you use it before you get it, turn it on feel it in your hand. there was actually an issue with the camera on my second hand s6 edge +, i only realized after i got home, but i went straight back and they just replaced it with another model that worked.

At least if you buy the S7 new you will have a month or two before the dreaded Samsung lag sets in... with a secondhand Samsung it's probably on a go-slow already
