For rear wheel I took a mavic krysium elite and ordered covers. Google wheelbuilder and aerojacket.

if you are interested i have a kysrium wheel cover for sale in the tri forum, bought from wheelbuilder

Out of interest why are you moving it on ? Have only used mine a couple of times but it seems like a good aero solution

replaced with a full FFWD disc. the disc covers are excellent, no complaints, but the kysriums are the main wheels i use on my road bike and when racing regularily during the season i was swapping the cover on to use with the tri bike, and off to use with the road bike way too often.

plus, whop whop whop whop whop. got a great deal on an FFWD disc so went with it. the disc cover is perfect, it's a really good aero solution, and offers nearly everything a full disc does

I have an rt rear wheel cover and it's quite good on 50mm wheels. I might gt a disk this year tho.

Makes sense, I had to get the Krysium rebuilt in the LBS shop and even though its straight its pulled slightly to one side. So decided to put covers on, use it for TT and leave it that way !
Wouldn't have the patience to be taking them on and off.

Out of interest has anyone ordered any wheels direct from china lately? are the custom charges excessive?

I don't have any ksyriums to put the cover on I'm afraid!

But yeah ffwd seem to offer decent "value" in rear disc wheels for what is a premium brand, and a great looking wheel.

Not sure I can justify the most of 1000 euro though for a handful of short TT's

They do pre built covers for many other common wheels and even if you're wheel is not listed you can submit dimensions and they'll let you know if they can make a cover.

Indeed, but it's a ksyrium cover mossym is selling.

There were a few 500 quid discs for sale earlier on in the year that I probably should have picked one from but they're all gone now.

The conundrum seems to be go cheaper on a ten speed and be stuck with it, or go dearer on 11 speed and have a better chance of selling it on.

Not that you need the extra ratio really for the vast majority of flat TT courses

As a matter of interest Mossym. Is your disc a tub or clincher?

ye, but kysriums come up on teh forums here very often, you could buy one, mount my cover permanently and have the benefits of a disc for next to nothing :)

clincher. no interest in messing around with tubs, clincher all the way for me

Was at my first ivca TT last night. Felt like the poor relation on my aksiumed planet x. Lots of ffwd discs on show, couple of corimas and a lot of tri spokes too actually.

One advantage to my cheap clinchers was I was able to cycle out to the race and cycle home afterwards. Couldn't chance it on tubs, and wouldn't realistically do it on a disc.
Is been a long time since I felt like a spa on the bike, but yesterday evening, cross town traffic, stopped at (seemingly endless) traffic lights in a skin suit and aero helmet.... Lots of staring at the ground and counting to ten... :D
Good spin home though and 90k on the clock at the end which is a healthy Tuesday evening's innings.

Really wanted to break 24 mins for the first time but failed by 27 seconds. So my primary question is: how much credit carding will buy me those 27 seconds?!

why would you not do the spin home on a disc? always take mine out a couple of times the week before a race to make sure all okay

Knocklyon, through Tallaght, sagart, Rathcoole, Newcastle etc... I dunno. As it was I kept expecting to get something thrown at me!
But yeah I suppose you could. My instinct though would be for a tub disc I think. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Why don't you treat yourself to a new set of kysriums and I will buy your old set along with the disk cover :) - go one...you deserve it

Is the cover for ANY kysrium wheel?

Is it easy to whip on/off?

Whereabouts are you, and how much is it? :)

Read a few reports on this lately about discs, and the bigger advantage was from skinsuit and helmet. So I got a 40 euro aero helmet and an EOL skinsuit from the club for 40 euros :)

I'm using the 50mm Mavic Cosmic SL from the roadbike on the TT bike.

Overshoes are a cheap time gain.

Ive been looking for a new set of wheels also as its a pain swapping to the other bike and changing the cassette, wrecking my head!
I looked at China too, but no idea of quality.

have a search for a post by user trig1 on here who bought a pair of chinese wheels and had them disintegrate coming down a hill on him. they literally melted.

and i know before i am slammed that plenty have had good experiences, and have really good chinese wheels, and that they are all made in the same factory (i don't buy this at all) , but a few bad experiences i've seen would put me off taking the chance.
