Planning required to add pitched roof to a converted garage?

    Hi all

    we are looking at buying a house that already has the side garage converted.

    It has a flat roof and would look much better (and tie in with the rest of the house a lot better) if we pitched the roof.

    Do we need planning to do this?

    OP, does the garage as is meet the normal habitable room height of 2.4m
    If not then if getting re-roofed consider this issue.
    At a quess you will end up with a valley, make it wide enough to walk on for ease of maintenance and keeping clear of leaves

    sorry i dont follow on the rest....

    i intend to have the roof as a lean to rather than a pitch in its own right

    so like this /| not /\
