Would a psychiatric diagnosis in Belfast be accepted in Dublin?

I have been diagnosed multiple times in America with a psychiatric disorder which after living in Ireland for 5 years is starting to become more of an issue.

I spoke to a few specialists (private and public) in and around Dublin but the wait to be see for a diagnosis is 6-12 months. In Belfast I was about to make an appointment to be see for an evaluative session in a week.

My question is: if my diagnosis is 're-confirmed' by a psychiatrist in Belfast, should that be acceptable to a psychiatrist in Dublin? I don't want to have to go to the North every month or two for check-ups so I would like to have a regular psychiatrist in Dublin. Does anyone have any experience with this?
