Do locals ever see him? What's he like? Does he actually spend much time in Ireland?

Just curious because you never hear of anyone seeing him here.

I have a mate that runs a small army surplus store in the area. Tells me DDL is one of his best customers.

Buys lots of camouflage clobber apparently.

Served him coffee once while working for a short time in a local coffee shop that he's a regular in. He'll pop up in Wicklow every so often. Pretty quiet that you'd barely recognise him to be honest.

As far as I'm aware he's not really based there anymore. I believe though he does say he's from Dublin/Wicklow if asked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭jamesbere

He's really a blood sacking vampire who roams the wicklow mountains in his spare time.

....probably because he warned locals of this long term stalker he had asking questions, wherever he went.

It's all building up to a big screen reboot of Glenroe.

    He's playing Fr Deveraux's greyhound.

No wait, that's Dublin's Day Luas

It's getting in Character for playing Dinny in the movie version of Glenroe, a film he believes will be the pinnacle of his career

I beat you to the scoop on that one Crayfish, but our sources must be confused about the role :D

Angelina Jolie has signed on as Fidelma though, the dirty little temptress!

Bencio Del Toro would be well cast as Blacky Conners.

Sophia Loren as Mary Moran and Kate Beckinsale as Biddy.... Bill Murray as Stephen Brennan, DDL as Miley and Julia Roberts as Teasy McDaid.... I cant make up my mind as to who plays Mina Timlin, any ideas ? some project this...!

know a couple of people from my employer who had dealings with Daniel and all said he was as unassuming and sound as you can get.. likes his privacy though.. sure who doesn't...

He's doing a lot of jogging on his right leg trying to equalise its strength for the Hollywood remake of one of his prior movies.

Friend of mine leaves up that way, said DDL does be in the local chipper sometimes with his young son. Very unassuming apparently.

Not bashing your post by any means just the general perception that any 'celeb' couldn't be ordinary and down to earth. He's hardly going to go around bragging about the films he's been in and awards he has won and generally just talking obnoxiously about himself and cursing at the peasants.

Well, you know a lot of LA based celebrities do exactly that.

its usually the z list "celebs" who do things like that, fair city actors for example or someone off Ireland AM.

some are but its difficult to stay grounded when everyone wants a piece of you. I wouldnt class him as a 'celeb' because he's avoided that side of the business, he's an elite level professional actor
