Thinking about getting a watch that can connect to my phone but don't have a clue where to start. I have a homtom ht6 android phone. Would use it as a watch obviously and also to get email notifications, text etc. Would like a camera on it as well. Have seen some cheap ones and thought maybe start with a low priced one and if I like it get a better model. Advice welcome.

I have a Huawei watch. Expensive but it feels and looks like an actual watch. Really nice device.

Avoid cheap watches like you might see on Groupon, all of them are not Android Wear compatible.

If you are budget restricted I would look for a 2nd hand Moto 360 or Asus Zenwatch.
AFAIK no android Wear approved watch has a camera module
