Cheers for posting the info about the event! I honestly wasn't aware the details were already up on the DIAS site. The program for the weekend is posted to https://www.dias.ie/2016/05/10/11th-june-solarfest-2016-at-dunsink-observatory/ -- Friday night's speakers are two of the DIAS staff while Sunday will solely be in Rathbeggan Lakes. The Observatory is hosting a group from Scouting Ireland on the Sunday so access is restricted.

Whats happening in Rathbeggan on the Sunday?

Sorry for the late reply ... a rather nasty infection laid me low a bit recently!

As far as I know the event in Rathbeggan Lakes on the Sunday is purely just a day of solar observing with various instruments. Kevin and Sam have some posts up on a dedicated Facebook page for the Solarfest weekend. Details at https://www.facebook.com/Solarfest-223930147635707/

There's about 5 to 10 places free if anyone would like to come along to a public talk on Friday, June 10th at 7:30pm at Dunsink Observatory. Let me know via PM or posting here if you can make it. I can then pass the details on to the DIAS staff at the Observatory. Colm Coughlan and Rachel Ainsworth of DIAS will be giving the talks. If the sky is clear we'll use the Grubb telescope afterwards for a bit of observing.

    John
