Do we only have to study the topics related to the case studies for the Democracy and Dictatorship unit? I wasted my time reading the whole unit including Vichy France and World War II and now I'm realizing we're only gonna be asked something relating to Stalin, Hitler or the Jarrow Marches. Is that the gist of it?

The background information would probably help you to develop a better understanding of the case study itself, but I think it's otherwise unnecessary. Our teacher skipped over it anyway.
