Looking for a bit of advice on laying a lawn. I've been offered some black peaty soil from a bog, looks like lovely stuff. Does anyone know if its a good top layer for a new lawn?? Or am I better paying for top soil??
    Cheers

Peaty soil isn't a good growing medium for a lawn, you're better off buying a graded top soil.
