    Hi,

    Hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

    Is it illegal backed by a legislative statute to;

    Bribe a current public official (legislative or within the executive) in an effort to encourage certain policy actions or to argue for one argument over another.

    Employ a current public official (legislative or within the executive) as a consultant for a firm with the aim they will argue for favorable policy decisions for said firm and represent its interests within the Oireachtas.

    In relation to payment/bribe/gift is anything that the public official will gain or at least with the intent of effecting the public official positively.

    I'm aware of the Lobbying Act 2015 (doesn't indicate details in relation to payments or gifts). Also briefly aware of the the Electoral Act 1992 and 1997 that aims to disclose donations. I'm further briefly aware of the Ethics in Public Office Act, 1995 which has a focus on declared interests.

    Finally if it is possible or not can, people direct me to specific legislation.

    (Researching, no intention of actually bribing anyone)
