    Hi
Im coming to the end of a French language course. I have done it on a broken leg and was having intense panic attacks everyday due to a lack of freedom .. unable to take part in the sports etc The turning point came with a school trip. The teacher who was with us was very patient and understanding. I found myself really enjoying the day with my classmates.. felt no longer on the sidelines. Ever since day by day I gradually got a better grip on the attacks. Is there any way to meaningfully thank this co ordinator before we finish up ? Without embarrassing myself ? :D

A 6 pack of Petits Filous and a baguette should suffice. I say go all out and make it a Cusine de France.

Why would you be embarrassed? Get them a resteraunt voucher or similar, show them how much their patience really meant.

Perfect Armchair Andy. That's a great idea :)

Asking this in AH deserves every 'first funny thought that enters my head' reply you get.

If you want to thank an adult, say "Thank you for...". There is no need for song/dance; gift vouchers; touching moment...

Get them the complete box set of 'Allo 'Allo.

There's nothing the Frenchies like more than a light hearted comedy about the Nazi occupation complete with authentic accents.

Is your teacher similar in any way to Serge Gainsbourg? He was a very sexyful French man. You could pretend you are Jane Birken and perhaps whisper in his ear 'tu es la vague, moi l'íle nue'

Just say what you said in your opening post.

OP, do you fancy your teacher?

    Just say, slowly...and loudly...

    "THANK...YOOOUUU"

    They'll understand.

Would it be a little over the top to give them your rendition of Je t'aime? Complete with moans & groans?

Course not. That's what I suggested a few posts up. Nothing says 'thank you teacher' like a Serge Gainsbourg song :p

You could collect some slugs from your front garden and say this is an Irish speciality. :pac:
