To answer my own question and if anybody is interested - he won 1st round stoppage.

Catterall really needs to work on that jab. Its non existent and he keeps getting caught with the same left hook. There was alot of hype after the Stalker win and the fact he sparred with Mayweather/Canelo but his performances since haven't inspired me to think I'm watching something special. He'll still win this fairly comfortably.

Yeah, I agree. I'm kind of underwhelmed by Catterall. In fairness he could be one of these fellas who is just a good all-rounder without being especially good in any one area, but he certainly needs to work on his defense, considering how often he was hit by left hooks from a completely one-handed opponent.

Fair play to Hughes. Very brave and determined.

Yeah it was a good little fight that went under the radar. I'm only catching up on the undercard now and not sure if you seen him but Zelfa Barrett is a name I'll be looking out for. It's my third time watching him and each time I see him, he really impresses me.

I didn't see him, but isn't he the nephew of Pat 'Black Flash' Barrett?

If he's anything like Pat he's worth watching. I always reckoned Pat was one of the biggest 'if only's I ever saw. What a puncher!!

Check out Channel 5 for the Haskins/Morales fight.

I'd love if the Baby Morales won, I don't rate Haskins at all and he has crumbled in the past.

Jesus this is a brutal fight. Haskins is almost like Frankie Gavin. He shows good bursts but more often than not he does sweet f*ck all. The atmosphere at the fight is telling, more life in a coffin.

    Agreed.

What just about to post that pac_man. Terrific fight so far, Durodola has a fantastic chin. Some of ye might remember Briedis's sensational KO of Manuel Charr a while ago.

Was just about to say Durodola has some chin on him and then he gets dropped with a peach of left hook. Good fight. Is this an eliminator for the Bellew belt
    (WBC)should he win it?

Durodola survived against Kudryashov who's a disgustingly murderous puncher and ended up stopping him, he's an absolute horse of a man. Briedis is a notch above though.

I'm not entirely sure, I think the winner of this might have to fight Huck first, and then you have Drozd, the original belt holder coming back, surely he'll have a say. Bellew hasn't a hope btw, Makabu is another freakish puncher.

Good stoppage by the ref. Briedis has some flaws but he's a very exciting boxer.

Another belter of a fight in the CW division. I don't care, retire the HW division and any fighter in it for all I care, Cruiserweight is where the action for the big lads is at. If the division got exposure all the boxing naysayers would have no argument. Some absolute corker of fights in recent times. You've Lebedev and Ramirez in a unification fight next week as well and Glowacki-Usyk has been ordered too.

What do you make of Briedis? Seems like a good boxer, I noticed that when he fought Charr. Certainly goes against the reputation of Latvian journeyman.
    Edit: seen your post above

He's a pretty good boxer, but not on the level of the likes of Lebedev, Drozd and Usyk who are superb technically and can bang. He's a very solid all round fighter though, and he's still developing even though he's in his early 30s. I'd rather he fight more guys like Cunningham, Kalenga and Shumenov before going for a title. Makabu is a savage puncher and a KO from him could potentially ruin you. I fear for Bellew tbh. I think Huck would beat him too as of now.

Looking at Boxrec rankings there and the CW division is absolutely jammed with talent, it's definitely for me the most competitive division. Even way down the rankings you've a guy like Diablo Wlodarczyk whos a smashing fighter.

I'm not sure what the story was with Ramirez when he fought Ovill McKenzie but he looked woeful in that fight. Although he's getting on a bit, I still fancy Lebedev to win that.

Yeah didn't look great at all, but he's a decent fighter and gave Huck a great fight, although I don't think he should have a belt. It's a shame Yoan Pablo Hernandez retired, I was a big fan of his...but yeah hard to look past Lebedev. Ramirez has an appealing style and he's got a good tank but Lebedev is a super counter puncher and has good power...I'd say an 8-12 stoppage win for him would be my bet.

Another reason to love the cruiserweight division. This is a sensational KO from last night.
