A friend of mine recently got involved in a big poker game and came out with a substantial amount of money. It's all gone.. A new Ducati and a few other "cool" things. I don't think he realizes he can't afford to service the bike..

Is that the way to go? I can't help but feel jealous of it a bit.. I'd love to go out and buy one as well but I worked hard for the money and can't bring myself to do it. If I won a lot, I think I'd just throw it in my savings and forget about it which is so boring.

Can't afford to service it? Desmo belts aside they're not that bad - what exact model is it?

Easy come, easy go, will you let me go?
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go. (Let him go!)
Bismillah! We will not let you go. (Let him go!)
Bismillah! We will not let you go. (Let me go!)
Will not let you go. (Let me go!)
    Never, never let you go
    Never let me go, oh.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, mama mia, mama mia (Mama mia, let me go.)
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me.

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby,
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here.

Gambling winnings are outside the tax system in Ireland.

I'd very imaginatively punt 80% into my 'future fund' and blow the rest on frivolities and fripperies.

Nah, who am I kidding. I'd stick it all into the savings account.

Oh for Jesus sake - just about the worst, most extortionate country in the world to have anything to do with bikes or cars. Goodluck!! :pac::pac::pac:

Ha yea. Literally can't insure it, as a foreigner anyway. I stopped at a 10year old 400cc because I could afford to lose it to the police if they fancied it.

I believe they have a 65% tax on motor vehicles, is that right? That's be why everything, including used, is balubas expensive.

Ah sure ya can't be sensible all the time. No harm in buying a toy with some of the cash, paying some off the mortgage and saving the rest.

It's about to change.. High end cars will get more expensive and cheapers cars cheaper. Rolls Royce will up to to 2m!

As for bikes, Ducatis aren't as bad because they're built within ASEAN. Still 12k min really.
