    Hi out there,

thinking of buying a bike from canyon or Rose on-line. More likely Canyon Aerod. Gonna spend about £2,700 sterling. Worried about putting it together. Anyone out there got any advice experience of this. Is it better to gind a local bike guy to put it together? Much obliged for any help.

Generally there is very little assembly. If you can use an allen key and a pedal spanner, you should be sorted.

I bought a bike last year from a German retailer called Fahrrad Kaiser.

The bike came nearly fully built, all I had to do was put the wheels on, insert the seat post (saddle already on) and put on the handlebars (and my own pedals). I borrowed a torque wrench from a mate.

If I can do it, and believe me.................... then anyone can!

I've bought two bikes from Canyon. Very easy assembly as noted in previous posts. You just need to put on the front wheel, seat-post and handlebars. Very basic torque wrench supplied along with a fools guide instruction manual and DVD. Gears etc already fully tuned. You'll be ready to go in about 5 minutes.

Bike from ribble. Wheels and saddle on and go go go.

Bike from Rose, as above very quick to assemble, took a long while to arrive though (15 weeks!). If you're going for an on-line bike shop, check the expected delivery date prior to ordering or you may end up disappointed.

I got my Rose before Christmas (delivered 2 weeks earlier than expected!) and as mentioned already, set-up was a 5 minute job. Only issue I had was I didn't fully insert the Di2 cable into the battery (internal seat post battery), so when I took the seat post out to check why the gears weren't working, the cable stayed inside the frame. I fished it out with a wire coat hangar and put it in correctly and it was all good. Also, as its a carbon seat post and frame, I had the post slip down initially. Hairspray cured this.

If you're still unsure just ask any regular cyclists you know. They'll have it together in no time
