    I just got a new 'bicycle' ....;)
Its a carbon Thompson, fab bike but 1 problem...
I need to adjust the saddle height, as when it was set in the LBS it was fine, but after a couple of hours on the road.... Its not !

The bike has a nut on the 'crossbar' to loosen the saddle , but i loosened that and the saddle wont budge.?
Its a carbon seat pillar also, so i dont wanna do the wrong thing before i find out the right thing to do......

Is the seatpost clamp totally lose? You should be able to grab the saddle by either end and wiggle the seatpost out if so.

Check with LBS before you go swinging at it and see if they have used a glue or bond when setting the saddle height.

Givd the saddle a good budge down towards floor as if lowering it...this will release the wedge..then pull up to desired height...

This type of post should have carbon compound applied...you can buy if in any good bike store for about 10euro.

Eh .... If they did I think I'd go somewhere else!

Seat posts get stuck. I used to have to sit astride the crossbar and whack the seat upwards with both hands to release the seal. A release compound when fitting helps prevent it jamming.

^ this was the point I was making that if a compound was used the post may be well stuck in place. Worth checking out before going swinging at it.
