hi can anyone tell me if I am entitled to a refund of taxes paid for a flight that i was unable to make?, the flight was to Faro with Aer Lingus and I could not go, I am pretty sure there will be no refund on the fare portion of the ticket (if that makes sense), but i thought I read somewhere (cannot remember where) that the tax/ fees portion could be reimbursed if one does not travel. I did contact Aer Lingus but still waiting to hear back from them a week later.

I think you can, but the airline usually charges a hefty processing fee, making it rather pointless for passengers. Personally, I'd probably do it just so as to not let them get away with it.

I rang A.L. and they made the refund there and then took less than a minute.
