Power banks? Whats the trick?

So i've come across various power banks with all sorts of capacities, some very large from 80,000mAh from hong kong :/ to the minimums of 10,000mAh and below! How can i know that they'll last long? Sorry for being vague but i want to learn a bit more before i buy one and make a purchase , thanks!

How long they last depends on how much power the device you plug in draws

The rating also depends on the battery voltage in the power bank, 10000mah might only give you 6600mah at 5v (usb voltage)
