    My brother in law lives in the UK and is moving to Ireland, does he have to pay VRT on a car if he brings it in from the UK with him.

    Hi folks,
    Any suggestions for myself? My dad who lives in Ireland is looking to buy a car at the moment and take it back. I live in the UK at the moment. Any suggestions? Can I register under my name for 6 months in the UK and then take it back without paying the tax.
