I made this last month, took a while and found most parts, the bottom stand is off a large printer.
i only use one side, it uses a good bit of charcoal. and i have cooked a whole chicken in it too.
it still needs some adjustments.
chicken took a long time to cook 5-6 hours, i had a ash problem as were the charcoal was, was too low.

The only way to know if your meat is done is to check the internal temp. This one is just as accurate as one I bought for €25, gives a faster reading and has a bigger probe.
And if you buy a chimney starter, invest in a small grill and do steaks on top of it. It gets up to 500 deg celcius and gives an unbelievable char.

Maybe I'm a philistine but that steak looked like it was murdered to me. It was ash on the outside and raw in the middle!
I do like medium-rare. Honestly, I've not had better than a scorching cast iron pan, basted in sizzling, bubbling butter with garlic, rosemary and thyme.
I've heard of chimney starters being used very successfully for wok cooking though and I can see how that'd work.
Looks a great thing to have. Defo going to pick one up.0 -
