    I had a couple of bodies and lenses serviced by CPS in the city centre yesterday. Has anyone else had this done? Lenses came back with dust on the rear elements. Badly cleaned UV filters as well. The bodies came back with dirty mirrors and greasy prints on the screens. Almost afraid to look at the actual sensors to be honest. Just wondering if I'm the only one?

    They cleaned the lenses and filters? Never seen that before.

    I've only had bodies cleaned before and they were fine.

    Yeah, they offered two bodies and two lenses. Thinking it must not be Canon staff but staff at the "authorised" service centre that carried out the work. Never had issue at the Canon roadshows before.

    They don't do any servicing there. Anything you leave in for "service" is sent to Canon UK service centre.

    So the staff who are there for the two day service clinic are brought in.

    So it is Canon staff for the service clinic? I've never had a job as bad as this done before.

    Was this the place off Kevin st? I have always left stuff in for the 2 free 'services' each year...
    I'll check them now, I had a body and 2 lens done.

    I doubt they "cleaned" your filters at all. Usually when you leave stuff in there you're supposed to remove everything including hoods and filters - just leave your front and rear lens caps on. I had two bodies and two lenses done again and they came back perfect.
