    Hi all

I will be studying CPA after ati and I only have to do 1 subject for f2 and then all 4 at p1 and 4 at p2

I have the option to do the 1 from f1 and 4 from p2 altogether

Any idea how long it would take to be qualified in full?

How long for each level(p2 and p1) on average?

Is 4 exams a year normal?

I'm ACA myself so not too sure, but I'm sure CPA would be happy to go through your options with you?

What do you mean how long it takes on average?

If there are 4 exams at each stage and you sit them 4 at a time it takes two years if you pass them all.

I did 3 levels of CPA in 3 years. The first 4 (formation 2) I did in the April sitting, then I took 1 subject from prof 1 in the august sitting (with the notes and on-line lectures as no lecturers avail over summer).
Did the other 3 prof 1 exams the following April and final 4 prof 2 exams the following April.
Some people in my year took 2 exams in the april sitting and 2 in the august, to split it up a bit.
I'd say you should be able to get urs done in 2 years.
Best of luck with it :)

Bluepants can you tell me a bit about the study involved for CPA, did you work and study or study full time? I'm thinking of doing last formation 2 exam and P1 next year on the first sitting. I'm trying to find out roughly the study time involved, also would it be possible to study these to exams on your own/online.Thanks

I was working full time for my finals, I got 4 weeks study leave from work, a week per subject, it was defo needed.
I think some of the subjects are do-able by yourself/online, but depends which ones, I found corporate reporting tough at p1 level, it's a big step up from f2, I would advise going to classes for that. I also went to classes for managerial finance and audit at p1 level, I did Corp laws an governance by myself over the summer months, just using the notes and online lectures, it's jus theory so found it fine jus a tad boring.
For my finals I went to class for both advance Corp reporting and taxation, and I studied adv audit an business leadership myself with notes/online lectures
I think some people do all subjects from home, CPA are usually quite good for recording lectures, it depends on the person I suppose, how disciplined you are. I felt I learnt more by going to the classes for the more practical subjects. Some subjects they only recorded every second year as far as I can remember so you mite wanna check that.
I would advise doing the revision courses for sure.
You could try get ur f2 subject out of the way this August if it's not too late.

Thanks for that Bluepants, nice to have an insight on how to approach it. I'm thinking of trying the last f2 in August, have about 13 weeks or so to study. Well done on getting them, think I will go 2 exams at a time after that, 4 must have been a lot with work. Thanks again :)
