Solicitors fees

    Hi

My wife and I have been separated for two years now. We have agreed to legally separate with the only factor to sort out being the family home and contents which we have agreed to sell and split the proceeds equally. The house if currently on the market.

I have approached a solicitor whom I have spoken to previously on the issue to act on my behalf and assist with the process, ie affidavit of means, terms of settlement etc. I have been quoted EUR 2750.00 plus VAT for this work. This does not include any conveyancing costs in relation to the sale of the house. I thought this fee sounded quite high. Can anybody that's been through a similar process please advise if they are accurate costs or seem inflated? I would like to keep costs to a minimum as much as is possible so maybe if allowed you could suggest ways of doing so.

    Thanks
    Sungsam
