Just wondering what type of animal actually qualifies for the Bord Bia "top up" or does any animal qualify?
Inspection coming around soon again and just wondering if it's actually worth the hassle of joining the scheme.

The auld can of worms again.
The BLQAS is a good idea which promoted good husbandry, animal welfare and proper record keeping.
IMO there is no direct link between the required standards and factory prices. The factories have manipulated the scheme for their own ends.
When beef is scarce the factories "ignore" your BB status to suit themselves and when plentiful will use your lack of BB status as a stick to bate the ****e outta you.

I should have added - IMO the BB scheme should have been used to encourage best husbandry/recording practices with an incentive via direct payment for those who met the standards.

Agree m, but as always it wasn't implemented right & now not used for the greater good.
