Just for information, the new process for a teacher being vetted is now in place.

2. New requirements for vetting from 29 April 2016

On the establishment of the National Vetting Bureau on 29 April 2016, teachers, including newly qualified teachers, commencing employment for the first time or moving to a new school or a new employer must obtain a new vetting disclosure from the National Vetting Bureau prior to commencing employment.

Please note that teachers, including substitute teachers, who are not moving from their current school(s) or employer(s) do not need to be vetted by the National Vetting Bureau at this time. The Department of Education and Skills Circular 0031/2016 provides more details »

3. Online vetting by the National Vetting Bureau to commence on 29 April 2016. From 29 April 2016, vetting will be processed online.
