No one can answer with any certainty as so many variables anything from months to years is about the best anyone's guess after that.

It is impossible to tell how long a case will take to get from the issuance of proceedings to date of trial. There are way too many variables, including the level of the court in question, as well as things like waiting for symptoms to resolve before heading to trial etc.

I say this as council who has just done a whole load of pepper work in this regard. (Sorry, I couldn't resist! The term for a barrister is "counsel", a synonym for advisor.)

From someone going through the process:

Your solicitor should be able to advise on this, but if everything were to be in place (injuries resolved, medical reports complete and all other paper work furnished) then you would be looking at a ball park of 6 months. However, it is unlikely that all the other stuff is in place, so realistically, you're looking at a lot longer. The defense may want to see you and have you assessed. With no information, it's even more impossible to give a wild guess.

I was injured over 2 years ago. Injuries Board application went in after about 2 months I think. The defense waited until the last minute to refuse liability. Looks like mine will be done this year and that's everything going smoothly. The delay was getting surgery, which I had to pay for and am recovering from 6 months later.
