I've noticed its got a bit quiet here recently. We would appreciate any feedback on how things could be improved.
Medical advice and recommendations are non negotiable though !

    Free chocolates?

    How about a journal club?

I think that the purpose of the forum isn't clear. It's very heavily moderated and given the no medical advice rule, I wonder would it be better used as a private forum for medical professionals. I don't see its value for ordinary people.

Any suggestions on how to maybe widen the appeal?

I'd agree that the purpose isn't clear. Should it be about discussing healthcare, the science behind it and advances in it? While I understand that its main interest will be for health professionals that shouldn't exclude others who have a vested interest in healthcare. All of us will be patients at some stage.
Wanting to understand medical practices and procedures isn't the same as looking for medical advice, although the lines can easily become blurred which is why this forum has to be so heavily moderated.

I think there might be scope for integrating it with the EMS & Long Term Illness forums. Expand the scope to discuss all aspects of health and disease. Having a forum for health professionals to discuss topics is a good idea but having more traffic where we are in threads with the public and patients would be good too.

The 'new' location since the forum move means most people never notice its here, I think

Thinking on it, rather than a full blown journal club "ugh, isotype controls are so passé, FMO's are essential", a challenge to convert the paper into lay terms, or tweet sized chunks, and to be critical with mostly lay terms where possible? "Explain this interesting development in med sci to my friend who doesn't speak Science.

Would it be possible to post anonymously? My area of healthcare is a very small community (everyone knows everyone) so I often don't bother posting in here as anyone I work with/went to college could easily recognise me and know what hospital I was referring to.
