With the day it was I can empathise with Clarkson's point about Hitler being the only person to look good in a convertible.

I'd love one, but can't think of one where I wouldn't look like a paedophile.

I'll be kind and not tell you what you look like for worrying so much about what others think about you because of the car you choose to drive.

seriously, unless you are 14 - buy what you like and not what the cool kids might think

22 stone? Sure you'd have to take the roof off to get in and out!

The amount of rag tops that go around in good weather with the roof up is silly. Why buy one in the first place?

It'll ruin their hair with the top down.

I used to think that before I got one, in an mx5 there is no excuse but in something that takes 30 seconds or so, you wouldnt always have it down, on short runs its just not worth it.

oh and I would be worried people thought I was gay !

That's your problem, isn't it. I'd like a Triumph Stag.

feckin clk 320 isn't nctd yet so couldn't take it out.
What a car to drive around like a poser in knowing its cost you less than a polo from that year :pac:

The roof on ours only works manually as the pump is german and therefore doesn't work. You get some quare looks driving in the rain with the roof down, but once your moving, only the back seaters get wet :)

I'm talking mainly about dolly birds in their Meganes and 206s with the electric roofs. If they're not putting the roof down because of their hair, it was a bit pointless buying one in the first place, no?

And by the way I always think fair play t'ya when I see someone with the roof down!:)

Up or down people will think you're gay, apart from the people who count and know that you are in one of the best handling sports cars. People also think everyone in a modified car is a hooligan that spends all their time diffin.

    In short people are stupid.

Dara O'Brian talked about when he contemplated buying a nice red open top car.
He sat into it and his wife said:
    "You look like Noddy".
