How to 'activate' PS4 save data?

Hi. I've re-downloaded a game that I deleted a few weeks ago. I thought it would pick up the save data file automatically, but it's not. How can I get the game to search through my saved data to 'activate' it.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Thanks.

    Ha, sorry.

My system just seemed to be a bit buggy actually. From what I gather a downloaded game should pick up on any saved data on the system, but the two games I tried weren't. So I tried the old on/off trick and it worked a treat.
