Hi lads, I was drinking Fischer last night on draught in Granville's restaurant, Macroom and loved it. They even had the glasses chilling in the fridge which gave a beautiful pint, I had a fair few but had a good head this morning,

Anyway is it possible to get this stuff in the shop or even online???

    Cheers.

It's not bottled at all, as far as I'm aware.

its an excuse of a beer, seemingly brewed just to allow erdinger supply a lager beer to pubs they supply their Weissbier to. They dont (or at least when I last spent ages looking) have a website or even mention of their existance on the erdinger website.
In Germany breweries normally force you to take their full range of beers (in return for interest free loans for renovations and other goodies) but even there Erdinger isnt bothered pushing Fischers

If you want a Munich Helles, then spaten is widely available (its now own by AB inbev, aka Budweiser/ Stella Artois), and should be in the lidl in Macroom at a cheap enough price or the super valu.

But I'll have to agree with you, its not a bad pint to be honest and WAY better than any traditional irish lagers like Budweiser or Carlsberg.
(BTW, give harp a try as it is way better than previous reputation makes it out to be. In Italy I even accused a barmaid of giving me Munich beer and trying to trick me, but it actually was harp as per what I ordered. Had it later in a country pub along the border and was spot on.)

Fischers Helles is not exported normally. It is only supposed to be produced for the Bavarian market and only produced, in bottles, in returnable crates which cannot be exported to Ireland. They're never, I can understand why as well, just going to produce packaging just to be exporting to Ireland.

That is why you only find 30ltr Kegs here. I love Fischers Helles but there's nowhere near me that sells it.
