Replacing front teeth?

    Hi Everyone,

My 2 front teeth are very crooked and have over the last few years develop chips/cracks. One of them is very badly chipped at the bottom and I can't even look at myself in photos much anymore. I have hated them for years but lately it's bothering me.

I think maybe crowns might be the best option for me? would it be pricey?

    Thanks.

The chips/cracks could be due to any number of things; decay, trauma, grinding, nail-biting, dislodged fillings, excessive pressure due to the a heavy bite....Firstly you need to know why your teeth are chipping, because you run the risk of any dental work chipoing in an identical manner. Could you post a photo of the teeth?

Sorry, Best camera available to me. As you can see the teeth are very crooked. The tooth on the left has lost it's shape at the bottom.

Sorry op but don't waste your money on your teeth, a new camera would be a better investment...!!;);)

I've seen a lot worse than that! I wouldn't get them replaced, personally, maybe cleaned and whitened? Smiles Dental seem to have good services and there are often special offers, or if you have a dentist they might give you a good quote.

Go to your own dentist and find out why they are chipping away before you get them fixed.
there's no point in repairing them if the reason they are breaking is not addressed first.

Until recently I had a very high sugar diet which I have been able to change in the last few weeks. I was more worried about the crookedness of the teeth and wondering was it changeable without braces..

    Better pic..

Crooked teeth can only be straightened with orthodontic treatment- usually braces or "traintracks", followed by retainers.
You can place crowns/veneers over crooked teeth to give the artificial appearance of straight teeth, but in order to achieve this artificial alignment, some crowns will be thicker/bulkier than others,& you will need to have a lot of healthy tooth structure removed. The average crown lasts 10years. Approximately 20% of crowned teeth require root canal treatment at some point during this time. Google image "crown prep" to view what a tooth prepared for a crown will actually look like.
As for the chips/cracks, once you find out the cause you can address this as well.
Meet with your dentist& also consult with an orthodontist to explore your options
