    Hi all
Had wheel bearing replaced on 05 focus 2 weeks ago. Was badly worn. Not sure if the new problem is related but possibly is
When turning into drive 3 nights ago I heard a screeching noise which sounded exactly like the metal gate when we open it. Had assumed/hoped it was that but exact same noise when turning in today.
Also there is a faint whistle sound when I apply brakes !
I assume it's related to brakes ? Is it easy to check brake pads myself ?
Will prob run back up to mechanic anyway but would like to Check myself too if easy enough to do so

DO you have alloys on the car, if so should be easy to see inside the wheel at how much of the brake pads are left. Here's new and used pads for comparison...

Seems to be loads left on the pads
    Tried the car again
A few times when turning wheel clockwise there was no noise
Few times I got that horrible noise . Sounds like metal on metal
I'll be bringing it back to mechanic anyway tomorrow just hope it's not major

Get him to see is it the bearing at the top of the shock? My van was making a banging and scraping noise as the bearing had totally collapsed
