Hello picking up my first car soon its a golf mk5

Im looking to order a few bits such as:

    Led Interior Lights Kit
    Mesh Grill
    Lowering Springs

Just wondering how much roughly would labor be to fit these if a mechanic was to carry out the work in Laois/Kilkenny area.

Before you spend any cash, get a quote on your insurance to declare modified suspension.

Insurance companies will not pay out a claim with false declarations if you state 'no' with the question 'has your car been modified?'

Forgot to mention im only a learner driver ..waiting for my test now id say they will try to charge me through the roof if i start to add modifications :/

Can the lights and grill be fitted without having to declare them as modifications?

    Tacky stuff should be fine.

Do yourself a favour, keep it original and clean. Cheap mods ruin cars.

Springs could be €20/€30 a corner depending where you go.

As for the grill and LED's, most mechanics would be "having a go at it" imo so that cost could vary hugely on how good the botch job is :)

Do the interior lights yourself. Use an old credit card to remove trim.

If you go for a sport line or a GT sport it will already have the lowered suspension and other bits done. These come in 1.4 too.

Springs are definitely going to be more than 20/30 a corner, try maybe 50.

If you're going to lower it, I'd advise changing the stock alloys as well, the arch gaps on the golf are huge otherwise.
