    Hi...

Sprint league over. 6 out of 8 weeks best stableford points count are totalled for final score.

2 players finish on same points total - so two played finish with 160 points.

How do you determine which player wins overall?

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

One of them has already been flagged as the winner.... I'm wondering how one is picked above the other?

Usually the committee would have a rule stated before hand.

I would guess at if they are tied on 6/8 then it goes to best 5, if still tied best 4/3/2/1 etc.

Same as most weeks in clubs when count back goes back 9/6/3/1

Ours goes to a playoff, but best 5,4,3.... would be normal.

A playoff would work for 1st place but i know in by club for example the Winter league has Overall 1st-5th, Gross, Class Prizes etc. Would take a lot of playoffs to decide all the ties.

Yeah it's the top 8 teams in ours that playoff every year.

If it's best 6 cards out of 8, then it usually goes to the 7th card to decide a tie, if the 7th card is the same then it would go the 8th card and is 8th is the same then it goes to back 9 on 8th card and so on i.e back 6, 3, 1.

Problem with that is I one person had only played 6 there would be no 7th/8th card to compare.

No problem there at all, if a player only plays or returns 6 cards out of the 8, then his 7th and 8th cards are nil points.
