Posted speed limit valid until?

Hi, since you were so kind as to really help me with the filtering arrows once and for all, I hope you can help with a speed issue

I'm finding myself very confused about speed limits, and people routinely ignoring them isn't helping in figuring out when I'm making a mistake. Until where is a speed limit valid?


Im on road R1, with a posted speed limit of 60. It intersects with road R2, another regional road. I arrive to the intersection.

1. If I continue on R1 after the crossroad, should I continue at 60 or at 80?
2. If I move on to R2, should I continue at 60 until I see a sign, or at 80?
3. If the answer is to follow the last posted limit I saw regardless of where I move, are "reminders" posted regularly if there's some kind of special limit for the road type so that I can count on if I don't see one for a while and I'm going at 60, I should be going at 80 instead?


Meeting a "built up" area, whatever that really means.

4. I am on a regional road that was posted 60. I move on to what looks like enough houses to consider the possibility of a few random kids running around. I slow down to under 50. After the houses look like they are gone is the limit 60, or is it 80?
5. Same situation, but this time there was a posted 50 sign before the housing area. Should I keep at 50 until new sign post?
