Getting a panel resprayed...

    Hi there,

I have managed to source a few replacement panels for the front drivers side wing of my car but none of which are the right colour. I can avail of silver, blue and red but as I have yet to talk to an actual spray painter I am wondering which will take the Toyota 2000 maroon the best. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Makes no odds.

Another maroon one would be ideal of course, on a 00 nobody's gonna care about a slight variation, and you wouldn't have to pay for painting, which would be the bulk of your costs.

Have you tried Partfinder.ie and donedeal

Isn't this exactly what you're after?

They do interchange, they are the same door.

Cosmetically the same but a JT chassis door won't fit on an SB chassis, the mounting points are slightly different. Its the same with the E12's

Would you like me to purchase a JT door for my SB Corolla and show you it won't fit?

Maybe you are right in what you say, but you should of made it clearer in your first post. The reason I say this is because not all liftbacks are on the sb chassis, the earlier ones are jt models and I have interchanged a door from one of these without issue.

I know there are many differences in the UK models but tbh I never knew the mounting points for the doors were different so that is good to know.

Reason I know this is I sold a chap a JT door by mistake and got one unholy earful when it was left back. There's so many differences and even within the same chassis can be a headache between years made.

Yet Yaris VN chassis and JT doors interchange, but nothing inside such as the regulator/lock and even the check strap are the same.

You have to know what interchanges and what doesn't

Maybe I should have been clearer however when talking about vvti which refers to the facelift where the chassis codes outlined are in action, maybe naive of me for thinking that was obvious
