I moved to Canada about a month ago and would like to claim back some of my tax credits. Is it possible to do this using revenues PAYE anytime or does anyone know what the process is that I need to follow.

    Any advice appreciated.

Form p50 at this stage of the year along with your p45.

That form makes me state that I am unemployed, which I'm not. I'm employed by the same employer but through Canadian payroll and paying taxes here. I did receive a P45 tho, so kind of a weird situation. Do I just fill it out as if I am unemployed or is there a different form for my circumstances?

Also that form states its for income tax, is that not the tax for self employed people or does it cover PAYE too?

PAYE is a method of collecting income tax from employed individuals. Self assessment is the method collecting income tax from self employed individuals.

Are you only temporarily out of the country or is this a plan for the foreseeable future? If it's for the foreseeable future, use the form P50 and declare your present status in Canada.

It's a permanent move. Thanks for the advice.
