    Hi guys,

I have a Triton T90Z shower just over two years, it was working fine until yesterday. When I went to turn it on the trip switch went on the main board, each time I tried to turn on the shower it would trip. What would cause this?? I was speaking to a chap who suggested that the element is gone and this would trip it out. If so is this easy to replace and at what cost?

if its done a lot of work more likely to be brushes in motor they seem to be a weak point.

unless you are compitent then opening the cover and playing with elecrickery and water wouldnt be wise.

Would take unusual circumstances for worn brushes to cause a trip. Faulty element is a good bet. Water leak inside the unit could also cause it.
As said above, probably best to have a shower specialist of electrician look at it.

This would suggest that it's the motor rather than the element. Though it could still be the element. I'm guessing that this was not mentioned to whoever said it was the element.
Worn brushes won't trip the fuse. With worn brushes you will hear a hum instead of the regular motor noise.

Look under the shower. There's a sticker with a date on the right hand side. What does the date say? Month and year?

Supply and fit a motor or element is around 150 inc vat

Look under shower and see what Month/Year it says, you maybe still under warranty.
