Whats the trade value of a 141 Toyota Corolla Luna with 50,000km on the clock.

Trading against a brand new Corolla 162 but if the 141 Corolla was to sell privately how much would it sell for or what would the trade value be?

    Petrol or diesel?

If I remember correctly don't you drive it as a psv? That will reduce it's resale value a bit.

diesel -not a psv just a normal domestic and social use.

Also how can I check that here is no credit owing on the car if I am buying a car privately?

Ah right, had you confused with somebody else.

Do a history check on the car from the likes of motorcheck or cartell.

Yeah, thinking you're thinking of the fella with the Terra and aftermarket leather.

OP I think you'd get roughly 13500 privately. Assuming it's the new model. Probably change to 161 for €10k ish

There selling in the dealers 141 luna is 17500 to 18500 cash price.

Just wondering would there be that much of a mark up.

A neighbor is thinking of trading her 141 luna for a 162.
I'm thinking of buying the 141 but wanted to give her a fair price or offer for her one.

Trying to save both of us some money from the dealers.

Presumably if my neighbour buys a 162 for cash, she would save a bit as well.

You have to factor in cost of prep, discount off asking price, profit (yes, that's what the dealer is there for)

What I'd do is get a price from the dealer. One with the trade in, one without.
If the trade in price is agreeable but neighbour feels they may do better by selling - agree a straight deal price as well.
Order it in for 162 reg and you have a good few weeks to sell the 141.
If your neighbour can't sell the car for more than the straight deal price minus the cost to change figure, then at least they know they aren't too far out.

    Shop around too.

Thing with selling a 141 Corolla us that most buyers would prefer to buy from a dealer and will pay more for doing so. You've also got the risk attached to handling money.

If you want to find out a fair price range then get 2 best prices from a few dealers, with the 141 trade-in and with cash. Dealers will often load any discount they can give onto the trade-in value so as not to upset the owners with low value offers on their car. If they offer 15k trade-in but no discount against a 1k discount for cash the real trade-in value is 14k.

You could also find some similar motors on private sale and see what the buyers will really take, rather than the dreamer advertised price that you often get on donedeal.

Then somewhere between the difference between the dealer trade-in and private purchase (as that is what you will be doing) and both of you will be up on the deal, assuming that a 141 privately purchased Corolla is a good option for yourself.

Main dealer price for a 141 Corolla is irrelevant to this situation as you will not be buying with any rights to return or comeback on future problems. I'd also consider the what-ifs of if something expensive goes wrong with the car a few months down the line, are you really going to be okay eating that cost or will there be bad feeling between you and the neighbour, may not be worth a neighbour-feud over a small saving on a car purchase.
