    Hello!

I thought i might post this here, its my mini trip report from my April trip to Honolulu from Dublin, thought it might be of interest to some people here. This was a holiday and also to earn 1,100 BA tier points to get me to Gold.

I thought i would briefly let people know how i got on during my 8day trip to Honolulu. In total i got 1,100 Tier points and about 50k Avois i think. I stayed one night in New York, in hindsight i think its better just doing all 3 flights in one go as the jetlag is the killer, i thought the flights were the easy part! Rented a lovely condo in Waikiki which worked out about half the cost of a standard hotel and had a pool etc.

Day 1 DUB-LHR A319, Ah the lovely BA Club Europe, cant imagine paying for club europe though, flight was fine and had 60minutes to connect in Heathrow which was enough to get through security and slowly wander to the boarding gate.
Day 1 LHR-JFK BA B747 absolutely loved this flight, sat in 62a i think, great food/drinks and impeccable service from the BA crew. I must say its great having Tattinger and then a G&T with Fevertree.
Day 2 JFK-LAX AA A321T The AA transcon service was perfect, very comfortable lie flat bed and well worth losing some tier points on, really nice food for AA and the crew found out i was going to HNL and gave me extra water and gate info
Day 2 LAX-HNL AA A321 Standard enough AA domestic flight, had a drink and tried to get some sleep, old style seats but at least they had the full entertainment system.

After a lovely 6 nights it Honolulu it was time to fly home, i was actually dreading these flights but they worked out fine.

Day 9 HNL-PHX AA B757, Luckily this was a nighttime fight as there was no entertainment at all, i managed to contort myself by the window to get a few hours sleep, they also only serve breakfast as their main meal before landing.
Day 9 PHX-PHL A321, Back onto the A321 after an hour in PHX, Another older seat with no TV, More sleep although they only give you a thin blanket on daytime flights, breakfast served after takeoff.
Day 10 After a 5hour layover in PHL it was time to fly to Dublin, was a bit annoyed the BA lounge was full as i dont really like the AA one in PHL. Anyway the A330 was perfect to get some sleep on the flatbed after dinner and a few drinks, at this stage id probably watch every new release on the entertainment system.

Interestingly there was a PDB served on all of the flight, AA crews managed Water/Juice/"Champagne" however the US crews made individual drinks like coffees, spirits, wine etc.
Highlight was definitely the BA B747 and the AA A321 Transcon! Oh and the new AA amenity kits are pretty nice.
